"The ride from Lhasa to Kathmandu defies superlatives. The countryside covers an amazing range from barley filled valleys, dramatic arid passes, the grandeur of Everest to the almost unreal descent into the greenery of Nepal clinging to the walls of steep river gorges. However, what impressed me most about the trip was how completely I could focus on just riding the bike and experiencing the surroundings. Mads and the support staff did a great job (despite a number of logistical challenges) and allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the task of riding through the spectacular and challenging terrain." - Peter Musgrave from Canada Peter cycled with Mads and Rajesh from Lhasa to Kathmandu in September 2003

U RULE!" - Susan Miller from USA Susan cycled from Pokhara to Gorkha with Rajesh and Mads in January 2004
I loved the trip to Morocco. Marrakech was a great little city, fun to explore and great food to try. Once outside of Marrakech and on our bikes, we were introduced to the beautiful countryside of Morocco, beautiful green valleys carved out of the red rock and sand by small rivers, with small villages every few miles. The people were so nice and so curious about us riding through. Once we got into the Atlas mountains, things became really incredible. The snow-capped mountains were so beautiful, and the riding was amazing, punctuated with stiff climbs and mind-blowing descents. Some of the jeep trails provided the best riding of the trip, very rocky and technical. The people were interesting everywhere we met, especially the Berbers that were out in the middle of nowhere. The food was good, if a bit repetitive and our Moroccan crew was great. Our unique trails leader was great as well: Good bike mechanic, responsive and flexible during the trip and a great biker.
My only suggestions for improvement would be: More technical riding and a bigger variety of food.

‘A truly epic journey! The Roof of the World on a bike – what better way to explore Tibet and Nepal, meet the locals, experience the amazing culture and stunning scenery! Scenic views of the Himalayas rewarded for soul-destroying climbs, headwind and ‘interesting’ road conditions… The tour was well organized and the support crew did an amazing job keeping those bikes going and chains lubed!... and the food! World class! Where else in the world can you feast three times a day and still lose weight? With all the hard work, Unique Trails still managed to turn this epic bike ride into a relaxing holiday! Perfect! I will be back for more’… off to the beach now… - Felix Haslimeier from New Zealand Felix came with Mads on the 2005 Autumn Lhasa to Kathmandu ride and we had a blast!
What can I say, fantastic trip, can honestly think of nothing negative at all. Mads was superb, both as an organizer and as a group leader. Cycling was obviously the highlight but most enjoyed the chance to relax a little at the Chitwan park. - Mark Winfield from New Zealand Mark came on the Sept. 2006 Lhasa to Kathmandu ride and extended his stay in Nepal afterwards with a visit to the Chitwan National Park.
